Time Passes

I can't believe it's been three plus years since I started this blog then totally spaced it out.
Well since I'm here I may as well pass on some tidbits I have learned in the time passed. I doubt if anyone will ever read this but here it goes.
Grand kids are much more fun than your own kids but that's only because the circumstances are not the same. With your own kids, you have to be the parent, the grown up! It's a fool who thinks they can be friends with their kids rather than a parent, you cannot be both.
Understand that a grandparent's job is to spoil, then send home. Repeat after me, spoil then send home. Our job is not to discipline; we already did that. I have had to remind Grandma of that code several times.

Why Blog GrandParenting

I have been a Grand Parent now for 4 years. I have four grandchildren; 3 boys and one beautiful girl. I have been blessed with a job that has allowed me to spend quite a lot of time with all of them. At some point in their lives, except for one, they have all lived with my wife and I for a short period of time allowing me to become quite close to them.
This blog is dedicated to them. I want to share the joy I experience with them and pass on any lessons or words of wisdom I may learn along the way.
